I’m always excited when my favorite skincare brands release a new mineral sunscreen! So when I found out that First Aid Beauty has launched a physical sunscreen made with 100% non-nano zinc oxide, I had to give it a try and ordered it right away from Sephora.

First Aid Beauty Mineral Sunscreen Review
Packaged in a simple squeeze tube with a screw cap, this sunscreen has a lightweight cream texture. It appears pretty white when first squeezed out of the tube and although it takes a bit of effort to fully blend out, there is absolutely no white cast left behind (at least on my skin tone).
While I can’t speak to how it’ll wear on darker skin tones, if you have light-to-medium skin tone like mine, you won’t have to worry about any sort of white cast at all.
Some mineral sunscreens tend to feel a bit thick or greasy on the skin, but not this one. It does feel a bit sticky on my skin initially but wears quite comfortably through the day. Also, it’s hydrating without being heavy. It doesn’t dry down completely matte, but nor does it feel oily on the skin. The finish is what I’d call natural satin (not dewy, not matte) which I like. I think this sunscreen would be best for those with normal to dry skin like mine.
I’ve worn this under makeup a few times without any pilling issues. So far, it’s played nicely with everything I’ve layered below and above it.
Also, this sunscreen is totally fragrance-free with no typical “sunscreen scent” and there are no essential oils in the formula, which is great especially for sensitive skin.
Bottom Line
First Aid Beauty Mineral Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 30 lives up to its claims of providing easy, everyday sun protection with NO white cast, doesn’t make your skin look greasy or shiny, and wears well under makeup too.
Not to mention, the fragrance-free formula is perfect for sensitive skin. And the fact that it’s readily available at Sephora at a reasonable price point ($28 for 1.7 oz) is a big plus! If you use only mineral sunscreens like me, this one is definitely worth trying out.
