Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring Foundation is a new hydrating foundation that offers medium coverage with a naturally radiant finish. The formula is infused with 5% Squalane + Hyaluronic Acid to deeply hydrate and boost radiance, plus powerful antioxidants to fight free radicals.
Designed for all skin types, this foundation is available in 28 buildable shades. Made without parabens, phthalates and synthetic fragrances, this skincare-infused foundation also promises to reduce the appearance of roughness and fine lines/wrinkles with continued use for smoother-looking skin.
Does it live up to the claims though? Keep reading to find out in my review below…
Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring Foundation has a creamy-smooth, lightweight texture that blends easily. It provides medium coverage with a satin matte finish that looks quite natural. The fragrance-free formula is buildable and layering doesn’t make it look cakey.
With the word ‘Illuminance’ in the product name, I was hoping more of a dewy glowing finish with this foundation but that isn’t the case (at least on my dry skin) I can achieve a soft dewy finish by using a hydrating primer first (like the new elf Power Grip primer) but the foundation itself doesn’t offer much in the way of glow.
That said, thanks to its natural matte finish, I think this foundation would work well for almost all skin types.
Now let’s talk about the hydration factor. Honestly, I am not too impressed with this foundation in that aspect. I have naturally dry skin and didn’t find the formula to have a hydrating feel. It doesn’t accentuate my dry patches though and wears comfortably with a lightweight feel.
As I mentioned above, this foundation also promises other skincare benefits like smoother skin over time but I haven’t used it long enough to notice any difference. I already have a great skincare routine to keep my skin in good shape, so even though I appreciate the anti-aging benefits of this foundation, they are not a huge plus for me.
Bottom Line
Overall, Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring Foundation is a really nice foundation with good coverage and beneficial skincare ingredients. But I feel like it doesn’t offer me anything special to make me reach for it instead of my favorite It Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow foundation (which is totally AMAZING and makes my skin look flawless with a healthy glow!)
That said, if you don’t have dry skin like mine and are looking for a skincare-infused foundation with a natural matte finish, I think you will like it. It’s definitely worth trying and comes with an affordable price tag too!
Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring Foundation is available for purchase at Walmart, Ulta Beauty, Target and Amazon.com for $15.99
