dupes) for high-end beauty products that work just as well as their expensive counterparts. So imagine my excitement when I was approached by Skincare Generics, a brand that offers luxury skincare at generic pricing!
You guys know I love finding affordable alternatives (akaThey have created the finest alternatives of skincare’s most popular products and made them reasonably priced for everyone. Their purpose is to make luxury skincare affordable and accessible to all.
All of the Skincare Generics products are made in USA, cruelty-free and vegan.
Are the Skincare Generics products exactly the same as the competitor listed on the packaging?
Their products are not the exact same as the competitor. However, they have engineered most of their formulations to match 80% to 95% of the competitor’s product ingredient list, along with scoring favorably in skin feel and sensory comparisons to deliver a luxury skincare experience.
So, let’s take a look at the product offerings from Skincare Generics!
Skincare Generics Lavish Cream ($39.99 for 1.7 oz)
Compare to Augustinus Bader® The Rich Cream ($305 for 1.7 oz)
LAVISH CREAM is a rich, creamy moisturizer ideal for people with normal, dry or mature skin types. This nourishing cream has been designed as an affordable alternative (dupe) for Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream ($305 for 1.7 oz) which is a luxury moisturizer formulated to help reduce the signs of aging including the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The Skincare Generics Lavish cream has a rich, velvety-smooth texture with an emollient feel. It absorbs easily, and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated with a healthy glow. The luxurious texture is very similar to the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream.

How do the ingredients in LAVISH CREAM match with the Rich Cream?
I compared the ingredients of both the products and the Lavish Cream contains all the key ingredients in the Rich Cream formulation such as evening primrose oil, argan oil, avocado oil, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and peptides. In fact, Lavish cream has exactly matching 32 of 36 ingredients in Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream.
Lavish Cream is also fragrance-free and vegan, just like the Rich Cream.
Skincare Generics Hyaluronic Skin Serum ($39.99 for 1 oz))
Compare to Dr. Barbara Sturm® Hyaluronic Serum™ ($325 for 1oz)
Hyaluronic Skin Serum is a lightweight facial serum that instantly hydrates, replenishes and plumps the skin. Suitable for all skin types, it features a blend of hyaluronic acid in various molecular weights to deeply penetrate the skin, locking in moisture for lasting hydration.
This hydrating serum has been designed as an affordable alternative (dupe) for Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum ($325 for 1oz)
Skincare Generics Hyaluronic Skin Serum has a lightweight, silky-smooth texture that absorbs easily, and I like that it isn’t sticky or tacky. Some of the hyaluronic serums I’ve tried feel too sticky, so the the elegant texture of this serum is definitely a plus for me. Not to mention, the formula is deeply hydrating and is gentle enough for sensitive and acne-prone skin.
How do the ingredients in HYALURONIC SKIN SERUM match with the Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum?
I compared the ingredients of both the products and the Skincare Generics Hyaluronic Skin Serum has almost exactly the same ingredient list as the Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum, except that the ingredients are in a slightly different order. The key ingredients in both the serums are of course hyaluronic acid and also purslane extract (which is known for its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing qualities)
Skincare Generics Hydrating Cream ($39.99 for 2 oz)
Compare to La Mer® Creme de la Mer™ ($390 for 2oz)
Hydrating Cream is an ultra-rich, moisturizing cream best suited for those with dry, mature skin. It has been designed as an affordable alternative (dupe) for the La Mer Creme de la Mer.
The Hydrating Cream has a creamy-rich, thick texture. Due to its thicker texture, the cream should be warmed in the hands prior to application to enhance absorption. It doesn’t have the exact same texture as Crème de la Mer but close enough.
I like to use this Hydrating Cream at night as the last step of my skincare routine to help seal in other products. A little goes a long way! It’s also perfect as a slugging treatment because of its rich, nourishing formula that helps lock-in moisture for skin that feels soft and plumped. Not to mention, it’s great for winter weather, peeling skin, dry hands/arms/elbows, or wherever you need extra moisture.
How do the ingredients in HYDRATING CREAM match with the La Mer Creme de la Mer?
I compared the ingredients of both the products and the Hydrating Cream has a lot of similar ingredients as the Crème de la Mer, such as algae, kelp and some botanical extracts. However, the main difference is that the very first ingredient in Crème de la Mer is algae extract which indicates a very high concentration of this anti-aging active. The Hydrating Cream has water as the first ingredient (like many skincare products) and it also contains algae extract but as the 10th ingredient in the list. So, yes the formulas are quite similar overall but they are not the same.
To achieve a similar ingredients list match to Crème de la Mer, HYDRATING CREAM contains both fragrance and lanolin. Both of these ingredients may cause a bit of irritation for a small percentage of people. So, if you are sensitive to either, the brand recommends you do not use this product.
Overall, I am really impressed with Skincare Generics! Their aim is to deliver a luxury skincare experience at an affordable price point and they have done a pretty good job. So the top alternatives to luxury skincare brands are now available to YOU at skincaregenerics.com with Free Shipping on all orders over $50.
