Hello beauties, let’s talk about fragrance today! I always enjoy smelling good and find it exciting to discover fresh, delicious scents that I can’t get enough of! Recently I had the opportunity to try out an Irish perfume called Inis Arose from the Fragrances of Ireland which is an independent perfume house based in County Wicklow, Ireland. Inspired by the magic, beauty and nature of Ireland, Fragrances of Ireland aims to give beautiful representations of Ireland through their products.
Inis Arose
Inis Arose is inspired by Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. The initial burst of lemon, bergamot, palest pink geraniums, cyclamen and muguet (lily of the valley) moves into a delicate middle note of pink may rose, white rose centifolia, white damask rose absolute and traces of Turkish rose attar allowing the wearer to feel as if they have been showered with rose petals and spring flowers. The base notes of patchouli, Mysore sandalwood, madagascar vanilla, tonkin musk and Atlas cedarwood add earthy depth.
The Inis Arose bottle has a green hue representing re-birth, new buds of spring and the warm embrace of love; the cap represents droplets of water, the source of life.
I simply adore soft, floral scents that are not overpowering and Inis arose is right up my alley! As the name indicates, Inis Arose is a beautiful, floral fragrance with roses comprising the heart of this perfume. What I really like is that the rose essence doesn’t overwhelm your senses and mixed with the citrus and exquisite base notes, it comes out as a delicate, refined floral that’s very feminine and romantic. The fragrance is so light and fresh yet noticeable and not at all loud or heavy which is how I prefer my scents (as I get major headaches from strong ones). The only downside is the poor lasting power as the scent doesn’t linger around for long (not more than 3-4 hours) so I am a little disappointed there.
The bottom line is that the symphony of notes in Inis Arose is delightful and although it’s not a unique blend, the fragrance is sure to please if you like subtle, modern floral scents inspired by nature!
Inis Arose is available at Fragrances of Ireland website for $30 (1.7oz) and if you like to layer your fragrance, they also offer Inis Arose gift set ($45) that includes the Arose body lotion.
What is your fragrance personality? Do you like florals too?
