Revlon is one of my top favorite drugstore brands when it comes to lip products so I was really looking forward to try the new Revlon Colorburst lip butters. There has been so much buzz about these new lippies in the beauty blogosphere over the past few weeks but I couldn’t find them anywhere in my area. I finally spotted a display in Target last weekend and picked up a couple of shades. Revlon has come out with 20 shades for these Colorburst lip butters but there were only about 10 or 12 where I found them. All the shades looked lovely but I wanted to get the ones that I didn’t have plenty already so I opted for Peach Parfait and Brown Sugar (leaving all the pretty pinks behind).
To begin with, the packaging of Revlon Colorburst lip butters is very similar to the Colorburst lipsticks but the top of the cap is clear which makes it easy to peek at the color inside (quite helpful when you are choosing your shades at the drugstore)
Speaking of the formula, while it’s not buttery smooth, I found it to be creamy and nicely moisturizing without being sticky or heavy. These lip butters glide easily over lips (even dry lips) and keep your lips comfortably hydrated with a lightweight, glossy finish. They have a slightly sweet scent/flavor which fades quickly. I do wish these were a little more long-lasting since I don’t get more than an hour – 1.5 hours of wear.
The pigmentation is pretty good considering it’s a lip balm type product. Both the lip butters I got provide more than a sheer wash of color. Although you won’t get as much color as a typical Revlon lipstick, I like that the color is easily buildable with a few extra swipes (I’ve read that the darker shades offer even better color pay-off).
Of the two, I prefer Brown sugar – it’s a light chocolate-brown shade with a nice sheen. I love this shade! It’s perfect for everyday wear (I’ve been wearing it to my yoga class too and my lips feel the bliss!)
Peach Parfait is a pretty peach with golden shimmer. The shimmer doesn’t feel glittery/grainy but the bling could be a little too much if you are not as shimmer-loving as I am.
So, can you ditch your lip balm for these Revlon lip butters? Yes! They have an emollient formula that feels light yet keeps your lips moisturized while adding a lovely tint of color that builds up easily for more pop. Revlon Colorburst lip butters are totally worth the $6.39 price tag and if you can find these on sale in your Walgreens or Rite- aid, make sure to grab a few!

When I first think of lip butters, I think of something creamy. I wish this had more of a cream coverage. Btw, I just noticed that you changed your layout! =)

Those look very pretty!
Unrelated to this post, but I wanted to give you an update on my thoughts about the Pureology Straight Serum featured in my “HUGE haul” post. (I meant to comment this days ago.)
I have naturally straight hair, so I can’t tell you how it works on wavy or curly hair, but I really like how it made my hair feel. I noticed my hair felt silkier & I had less fly-aways. The only thing that may be a downside is the scent, it reminds me of Wet Ones (the little wet towel things) as well as some kind of minty tone. :-p

Fabuless Beauty – I agree that these are not super creamy but I would still recommend picking up a couple of shades as the colors are pretty and the formula is moisturizing enough to keep the dryness away. Regarding the layout, I hope you like it!
