I received the Garden Botanika Lash Primer in my Infleunster Holiday VoxBox that I talked about in yesterday’s post. This is the first time I have ever used a lash primer and didn’t have any set expectations from this product.
Here is what Garden Botanika has to say about it – Take lashes from fine to fabulous! Garden Botanika Lash Primer makes even the skimpiest lashes look longer and fuller within minutes. Protective Carnauba wax , Glycerin and Panthenol lengthen and thicken lashes while keeping them soft and conditioned. Masacara goes on easily, resists flaking and will not sting or irritate eyes. Does not contain fragrance, shellac, mineral oil or animal protein. Water rinseable.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Cyclomethicone, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Disodium EDTA, Cellulose Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.
The applicator of this lash primer is similar to a mascara brush which makes it easy to use. According to the directions, simply brush on bare lashes from base to tips, let dry, then apply mascara. At first, I was not sure how this primer would look like on my lashes with its white color but once applied, it does not leave any white coating unless you apply a very thick layer. I feel that it makes my lashes appear thicker and longer with less mascara. It also claims to prep the lashes nicely for mascara application so that mascara goes on easily and clump-free but I did not notice any major difference in that respect. This lash primer does however help my mascara stay put all day long without flaking or smudging.
I normally use a natural mascara like the one from Gabriel cosmetics so do not have a problem with mascara irritating or stinging my eyes so can’t say much about this product helping with irritation. The lash primer is supposed to be rinseable with water but since you will probably have your mascara on top, you will need a regular makeup remover to get it off.
Overall, I liked the Garden Botanika Lash Primer but it’s not a must-have product for me. If you have skimpy/thinning lashes or if your mascara gives you a hard time staying on the lashes, then you might find this lash primer quite useful.

I used to have that! I preferred their mascara to the primer, but I never did like primers. 🙂
