Today I have a review of the new L’Oreal Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner that is a part of the Spring 2012 releases from L’Oreal.

L’Oreal’s Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner adds intense black definition to your eye resulting in a look that goes from everyday to exotic. This bold, blendable pencil comes in deep shades and glides on easily for an intensely captivating smoldering eye look. The custom sharpener is included with the liner to preserve the conal kajal tip which allows for optimal contouring of the eyes.
L’Oreal voluminous smoldering eyeliner is a kajal inspired eye pencil with a conal shape designed to contour your eyes easily. The soft, creamy formula is easy to work with and glides on effortlessly not only on my upper lash line but also on lower lash line and waterline. The long, precise tip makes it very easy to create thin lines for a soft, everyday look but you can also get a thicker, bolder line beautifully as the soft texture of the pencil makes layering a breeze! The color also smudges out easily for a smokier look.
L’oreal voluminous smoldering eyeliner comes in three shades – Black, Brown and Grey. I bought the brown one which is a dark, espresso brown with a rich color payoff. The color holds up really well on my upper lash line without fading off or smudging but the wear time is not more than 3 – 4 hours on my waterline. On the plus side, this kajal pencil does not give me raccoon eyes like a lot of kohl/kajal eyeliners (when applied to my waterline) do. So, considering that I do not mind reapplying if needed, but at least it does not make a mess at the inner corners and bottom of my eyes.
Overall, L’Oreal voluminous smoldering eyeliner is well worth trying if you like kajal style eyeliners. The pencil is soft enough to go on easily without any tugging and the color stays put where it belongs. Each pencil comes with a sharpener so you won’t have to look around for one when it’s time to sharpen the tip. I just wish this eye pencil fared better on the waterline and then it would be perfect!
