The key ingredient of this anti-aging formula is the Vitaphenol Complex comprised of super antioxidants including mangosteen, pomegranate and green and white teas that helps to combat free radical damage and visibly perfect skin tone. The formula also boasts of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), also known as ubiquinone, which is a powerful antioxidant as well that reverses UV damage and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Plus, it has Ceramides (lipid molecules) that boost your skin’s water retention, improving skin volume and suppleness.
Now that we have covered the composition of the formula, let’s talk about how it feels on the skin. This cream has a really lightweight lotion texture that absorbs super quickly, leaving a smooth, moisturized yet non-sticky base for sunscreen….and I love that! I had been looking for a product to add a weightless layer of antioxidant protection under my sunscreen and this fits the bill perfectly. As I have mentioned before, antioxidants boost the efficacy of sunscreen by providing additive protection against UV damage and this product is a good choice as a first line of defense against free radicals in the environment that can prematurely age the skin. Since it is recommended to be used twice daily, I have also tried using it nightly with my retinol serum and it works well in conjunction with it. And yeah, it is gentle enough to be used around the sensitive eye area without any irritation.
Even though this cream has been designed to hydrate dry skin (and it does moisturize pretty well), I believe its lightweight, non-greasy texture would work even for combination to oily skin types. Also, it has a subtle herbal kinda scent that’s pleasant to my nose.
Price at $95 for 1.6fl oz, Vitaphenol Daily Defense Cream is on the expensive side but if you are looking for a superior quality anti-aging formula with a cocktail of antioxidants and that also delivers essential moisture to your skin without a heavy/greasy feel, this is worth checking out!
