The shade range is pretty good as compared to the 2 or 3 options usually available for most of the BB creams out there. I found the closest match for my NC 25-ish skintone in BB7.
The first time I used this, it was on a freshly cleansed and lightly moisturized face using my fingertips. I had no idea how concentrated this BB cream is and applied a bit too much. And since the coverage really is FULL coverage, it ended up looking mask-like that I obviously didn’t like. So, the next time I used a small amount (less than a pea-size) for my face and neck and that worked out well.
The texture is thick and creamy but blends nicely and evenly into the skin as I smooth it out with my fingertips. It sets to a satiny matte, natural-looking finish covering up any dark spots, acne scars or other imperfections and even minimizes the appearance of pores for an even and smooth complexion. The coverage lasts perfectly throughout the day and into the evening, even with the summer heat and humidity. I also find that just a light dab of this product conceals dark circles almost completely without caking so you won’t even need an under-eye concealer after this.
When I use a damp makeup sponge instead, it has more of a medium coverage (which I usually prefer to a higher coverage), so you can choose the best way to apply depending on how much you want to cover. Also, if your skin is dry like me, you’ll find that this BB cream applies best over a lightweight moisturizer or primer, as it tends to enhance even the slightest hint of dry spots otherwise.
Now let’s talk about the ingredients…
The formula offers broad-spectrum SPF 25 with titanium dioxide as the sunscreen active which is a big plus for those like me who strongly prefer mineral sunscreens. Another positive is that it’s also water resistant so it’s not going to sweat off. In addition, the product also boasts of quite a few antioxidants like green tea, white tea, Vitamin C and E that work with the sunscreen to provide anti-aging benefits.
Bottom line – Jane iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream ($48) is truly a fantastic option for anyone looking for a full-coverage product to achieve the look of flawless skin. It really lives upto its name and adapts to your skin tone to create just the right amount of glow! As with all Jane Iredale products, the formula is also infused with a number of skin-benefiting ingredients and is suitable for sensitive skin too… I’m sold!
