While I do like using lip plumpers to get fuller, supple lips, I am just not a fan of the strong tingling sensation that comes with it. And thankfully Jane Iredale’s Just Kissed Lip Plumpers do their job without an overbearing tingle.
Upon application, this lip plumper feels like a lightweight lip balm with a smooth, moisturizing feel and a light cooling, minty sensation. As I mentioned above, it tingles but only a little bit, however the cooling sensation lasts for about an hour. These lippies have a very different scent/flavor that appears to be a mix of ginger, cinnamon and mint. In the tube, both the shades look quite dark but the color payoff is sheer (swatches below) with a subtle glossy finish but you can get a decent amount of color with a few more swipes.
The formula wears comfortably without being drying but the glossiness and hydration factor doesn’t last long (only about an hour or so). The color is also gone in about 2 hours so the staying power is just average. As for the plumping effect, I don’t see my lips really plumped up but the formula does make my lips look supple and a bit more fuller.
Overall, I am not too impressed by Jane Iredale Just kissed lip plumpers ($25 each). While I like the hydrating formula that doesn’t tingle too much, the pigmentation and staying power leaves a lot to be desired.

Wow, the pigmentation is so off, I was eyeing that plum till I saw the swatch. At $25, it’s a real disappointment.

Kath – I agree…it is a bit disappointing. Do you have a favorite lip plumper?
