Aveeno Clear Complexion BB Cream SPF 30 is a new launch for Spring 2013, hitting the drugstore shelves this month. I’ve never been disappointed with anything from Aveeno and the new Clear compexion BB cream is no exception!

Unlike Aveeno’s Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (that I really like!) that’s available in a light and medium shade, the Clear Compexion BB Cream is sadly only available in a single shade – Fair to Light. So when I first received this shade for review, I just assumed it to be a total mismatch for my light-medium skintone. However, when I actually gave it a try, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the shade adjusted to my skintone. Of course, it’s not a perfect match but I can easily wear it anytime all by itself and it looks just fine!
Now let’s talk about the formula. The texture is slightly thick, yet still creamy, easy to blend and doesn’t feel heavy/greasy on the skin. There’s a light floral scent that goes away within a few minutes after applying. I have normal to dry skin and this BB cream feels quite nourishing and moisturizing (you might need a moisturizer underneath if you have excessively dry skin). I use my fingertips to blend and one pump is more than enough to cover my face. As for the coverage, I’d say it’s sheer. It does brighten and even out my skin nicely, taking care of uneven spots and minor imperfections. It’s like my my skin only better! But for severe acne scarring or dark spots, you’d need to seek help from a spot concealer.
I really like the dewy finish of this BB cream. It imparts a subtle glow to my skin without making it look shiny or oily (and there’s no shimmer in there). That said, this product might not be a good choice for those with oily to very oily skin who want to steer clear of any product with a ‘glowy’ finish.
Overall, I am quite pleased with Aveeno’s new Clear Complexion BB Cream SPF 30. I like the formula but really wish it offered more coverage. And of course, it would be great to see more shade options for medium to dark skintones!

BB creams usually make me to oily. Love that this one is oil free!

I just bought this stuff and I do like the sheer coverage and the way it feels on my skin–but am I going crazy? I thought I saw so much shimmer in it. That was the one thing I didn’t like about it. I feel like I need to double-check now, maybe I’m totally wrong!
