When summer is out of sight, it can be easy to skip the last (but oh-so-crucial) step in your skincare routine – sunscreen, of course!! Well, we’re here to remind you that UV and UVA damage can happen all year round. Yes, that includes when it’s cloudy.
With that in mind, let’s talk about a fabulous new SPF find that I discovered recently at Target! Say hello to Hero Force Shield Superlight Sunscreen SPF 30.
Made specifically for acne-prone skin, this is a super lightweight mineral sunscreen with an ultra-breathable formula serving SPF 30 with a smooth, skin-like finish.

Now let’s get to my review….
Hero Cosmetics Force Shield Superlight Sunscreen has an airy-light gel cream texture that absorbs very quickly with a smooth, matte finish. It feels barely-there on my skin with no greasiness or tacky residue and also wears well under makeup.
The formula has a sheer green tint that blends and disappears into skin as you rub it in and helps mask a little bit of redness. On my light-to-medium skin tone, it leaves no white cast or chalkiness. However, those with deeper skin tones might notice a bit of white cast with this sunscreen. I hope the brand will launch another version of this sunscreen with a sheer peach tint that’ll be more suitable for medium to dark skin tones!
On my dry skin, I do not find this gel-cream sunscreen hydrating and I make sure my skin is well moisturized before applying it (especially now in winter!) If you have oily, acne-prone skin, you might find the formula hydrating.
Hero Cosmetics Force Shield Superlight Sunscreen SPF 30 checks off all the right boxes: airy-light and breathable with a weightless shine-free finish that works well for all skin types.
Those with oily, acne-prone skin will especially love its barely-there feel and finish that won’t clog pores, and even blurs signs of redness with a sheer green tint. And the 100% mineral based fragrance-free formula is gentle even on sensitive skin.
Not to mention, it’s super affordable at just $20….grab yours at Target. It’s also available at Amazon.com
