Hydroxatone Anti-Aging BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 40 sunscreen is your all-in-one multi-tasking perfecting cream that has been designed to hydrate, conceal, protect, reduce the look of aging and brighten skin in just one step. Available in 5 shades – Light, Medium, Tan, Deep Tan and Dark, this is one of the few BB creams in the market that offers options for those with darker skin tones.
The shade that I have been trying out is Medium. It’s a little too light for my (MAC NC-25 ish) skintone but the shade seems to adjust pretty well and although not a perfect match, it looks fine overall. This BB cream has a silky, creamy texture that’s easy to blend (I just use fingertips to smooth over skin). Coverage wise, I’d say it’s sheer to medium with a soft matte finish. It evens out my skin nicely, brightens dullness and covers up minor imperfections. The formula is lightweight and breathable and wears comfortably all day. However, it’s not moisturizing enough on its own for my dry skin so I like to apply a light moisturizer underneath.
As for the skincare benefits, the formula boasts of a range of anti-aging ingredients including antioxidant Vitamin C, encapsulated peptide, plant stem cells and natural anti-irritants to help soothe the skin. Another plus is the high SPF factor with titanium dioxide as the only active ingredient to provide broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection.
Overall, I am quite pleased with Hydroxatone Anti-Aging BB Cream SPF 40. I would have liked it even more if the formula was a bit more hydrating and didn’t accentuate the dry patches on my fcae.
