Product Description
The silky and blendable formula of our Baked Eyeshadow provides smooth and even application with each sweep of color. Baked in an oven, these eyeshadows offer rich pigmentation for a beautiful effect. Infused with active key ingredients Jojoba, Rose, Sunflower, Apricot and Grape to nourish and hydrate the skin. The long-lasting and shimmering color can be worn wet for a vibrant effect or dry for sheer pigmentation, offering a variety of gorgeous eye looks!
I picked up 3 shades of these e.l.f. Studio Baked Eyeshadows at my local Target last weekend. There are 6 different shades in the range and all the colors looked so vivid but do they really have a vibrant color payoff as the normally expensive baked products? Let’s find out….
Pixie – a soft peachy pink with gold undertones.
Toasted – a bronze gold with metallic finish
Bark – a medium-dark chocolate brown with golden sheen
I found these eyeshadows to be nicley pigmented but not as rich and opaque as I’d prefer. They have a soft, velvety texture that blends well overall but the application can be a bit patchy, especially with Pixie that’s the least pigmented of the three and needs quite a few layers to make it noticeable on the eyes. Toasted and Bark are surely way better in terms of color payoff and finish. However, I wouldn’t recommend these eyeshadows to those with darker complexions unless you don’t mind the extra layering. I don’t really like to use them wet, but you could do that to make the colors pop.
Without an eyeshadow primer, the formula doesn’t hold up very well and starts to fade and crease after about 3-4 hours but you can easily get about 7-8 hours of wear when used with a primer underneath. Here are the swatches :
Overall, I like the e.l.f. Studio Baked Eyeshadows. With a budget-friendly prize tag of just $3 each, they are worth trying out and I found the quality of these to be much better than the other eyeshadows e.l.f. has to offer. The packaging is slightly flimsy, but I haven’t have any problems yet with it breaking down.
Have you tried these? What do you think?
