Pacific Illusions Beauty is a wearable mineral collection of cosmetics inspired by exotic destinations both near and far – from gorgeous beaches to secluded island getaways. This mineral makeup line is based on the concept of “free” – paraben free, talc free, fragrance free, cruelty free and stress free. All products are hypoallergenic, gentle and unscented without harmful parabens and talc that can be absorbed into the skin. These cosmetics are made in the USA and are not tested on animals.
I have already shown you their Mineral Lipsticks and today I have the swatches and review of a few of their other color cosmetic products to share with you.
First is Pressed Mineral Blush in Blossom ($22)
Pacific Illusions Beauty blushes are hypoallergenic and talc free – gentle and unscented so they won’t irritate your skin. We offer colors that complement all skin tones with buildable and blendable shades in order to achieve an ideal level of coverage and color. Our blushes are composed of pressed mineral powder – light as a feather and silky smooth for a natural, healthy-looking glow.
Blossom is a cool-toned medium pink shade. The formula has a very finely micronized texture that goes on silky-smooth and blends easily (I use an angled blush brush to apply). This is a matte finish blush and contains no shimmer. It can be slightly powdery upon first application, but when blending it out it’s very smooth and natural looking. This particular color is not very flattering on my warm skintone but it’s surely nicely pigmented. As for the longevity, it lasts on my skin for a good 6 -7 hours before fading away completely.
Next is Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow in Bermuda ($22)
Pacific Illusions Beauty pressed-mineral eye shadows with fine, premium ingredients provide an ultra-smooth application with light-diffusing minerals to provide a natural, radiant look. What’s more, they double as an eyeliner when moistened and applied with a liner brush.
Bermuda is a soft gold with a hint of shimmer. The formula is very smooth, blends well and has medium pigmentation (that’s buildable). The slight shimmer from the mica in it is pretty on the lids and gives a beautiful satin finish. For application, I found it best to use over a colorless primer to enhance the pigmentation as well as the finish of the eyeshadow, and of course to prevent creasing. I experienced some fading by the end of the day but no creasing issues.
As for the color, it’s not a sparkling yellow-gold, but an easy-to-wear soft antique-y gold shade that makes the perfect eyelid color for when you want a little definition but still want to look subtle. Being a bit obsessed with anything shimmery gold, I can wear this shade throughout the year but I think this would be a good color choice for the coming fall months!
Pacific Illusions Beauty Pressed Mineral Blush and Eyeshadow ($22 each) can be purchased at ArtisanGemsBoutique.com and PacificIllusionsBeauty.com.
