I started off my Current Favorites series with my Favorite Sunscreens. And today I have a roundup of my favorite lip balms – all of these are natural and affordable (under $12). These are the ones you’ll find in my purse, car, bedside table etc and those that I continue to repurchase.
Alba Botanica Very Emollient Sunscreen Lip Care SPF 25 – This is my go-to everyday lip balm whenever I’m heading outdoors, whether it be for running errands or picking up my daughter from school. The super-nourishing, fragrance-free formula combines broad-spectrum SPF protection with long-lasting moisture for dry, chapped lips from a conditioning blend of natural plant oils & butters that also provide an antioxidant boost. Easily available at the drugstores ($2.99), this one is an all-out beauty bargain!
Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm – I discovered this gel lip balm recently in my July Glossybox. It has a light mojito scent/flavor that I really like! I love using it before bedtime so it’s right there on my bedside table. The formula is very moisturizing and does a great job of soothing and hydrating dry lips.
Solar Protection LipTect SPF 45 Lip Balm – LipTect contains mineral sunblocks zinc oxide and titanium dioxide for complete sun protection from UVA and UVB. Unlike many lip balms with physical sunscreens, this one doesn’t look chalky white on the lips as the subtle tint helps offset the white cast that comes from the amount of zinc oxide the formula contains. Paraben and gluten free, it’s suitable for sensitive skin types and is also water resistant (80 minutes)
Epic Blend Premium Lip Balm – This all-natural lip balm is infused with 7 moisturizers, including shea butter, hemp seed oil, coconut oil and Vitamin E that come together to provide an extra kick of moisture and an incredibly smooth texture. I like that the flavor is not strong and there’s no sweetener added in the formula, so you don’t lick away the benefits! Also, it’s gluten-free, petroleum-free, paraben-free, non-GMO and not tested on animals.
Elemental Herbs All Good Lips Active Beauty Tints SPF 18 – I think I have raved about these lippies quite a few times already. These are my favorite tinted lip balms with SPF and come with an affordable price tag of just $4.99 each. Not only do they offer broad-spectrum SPF protection with physical sunscreen (pure zinc oxide) but also add a hint of color to keep your lips looking gorgeous and healthy! Neutrogena Naturals Lip Balm – This is a long time favorite of mine. Love the lightweight, moisturizing formula that’s all-natural with antioxidant-rich plant oils like jojoba oil, olive oil, shea butter and vit E as the key ingredients. Also, I like that it doesn’t have any fragrance or irritating ingredients like menthol or peppermint. For just $3.49, this is one of the best lip balms available at drugstores.
L’Occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm -This lip balm has a nourishing yet light and non-sticky formula packed with shea butter that hydrates and softens lips as it replenishes lost moisture without feeling heavy or greasy.
