Have you ever gotten up, looked in the mirror, and just felt blah? I think all of us have those sorts of days. We are not looking and feeling that great, but just need to suck it up and get back to our daily business. Sometimes all you need is a pick-me-up to get going! When I am feeling down and my face/skin needs a little extra help, busting out one of my favorite perk-me-up beauty buys always helps!
Here are my go to feel-good beauty products that help me get through those blah days…
Perfumes – What’s better than an intoxicating fragrance to lift up your spirits? Now that it’s spring, my current favorite fragrances are Bella Vince Camuto, Philosophy Loveswept and L’Occitane Neroli Orchid.
It’s hard to pick just one but if I had to choose between these three fragrances, I think the winner would be Loveswept. It’s a vibrant and delightful citrusy-floral scent that always puts me in a better mood!
Lipsticks & Lipglosses – Being a lipstick addict, a good lippie is always one of my top beauty must-haves. Beauty Rule: when all else fails, there is always lipstick and retail therapy! Not surprisingly, I have way too many lipsticks and lipglosses but some of my favorite perk-me-up colors are Mineral Fusion lipstick in Intensity, Mary Kay lipstick in Coral Bliss, Bobbi Brown Lipstick in Party Pink, It Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush Butter Gloss in I Believe and Jane Iredale Lip Fixation in Craze. A little shine is a great way to brighten up your face (and mood!)
Highlighters & Blush – I have two favorite highlighters that are perfect to add an instant healthy-skin glow. The first one is Jane iredale In Touch Highlighter in Comfort, a warm golden peach cream-to-powder formula and the second is Mirabella Swirling Pearl Brilliant. Both of these give skin a natural-looking radiance adding a soft, dewy glow without any shimmer overload.
My perfect pick-me-up blush is the It Cosmetics Vitality Cheek Flush Pretty in Peony, a lovely peachy-pink with a subtle golden sheen. With just a few quick swipes, this warm-toned color perks up my dull complexion that needs a little splash of color #blushcrush
Eyeliner – An eyeliner is one of my everyday must-haves but I especially need a kohl/kajal eyeliner for my waterline when I’m looking sleepy and haggard. It really helps make my eyes look bigger and more awake. My favorite waterline eyeliners? Stila Smudge Stick waterproof eyeliner, Osmosis Colour water resistant eye pencil and It Cosmetics No-Tug waterproof gel eyeliner.
Olay Regenerist Luminous Dark Circle Correcting Hydraswirl – Thanks to its mineral pigments that lend a light-diffusing finish, this one is perfect to brighten up tired eyes and dull skin while adding a light dose of moisture. Sometimes, I also use a little bit of this product on top of my matte foundations for a slightly luminous finish…it’s a winner all around!
