It’s no secret that I’m a totally sulfate-free gal when it comes to haircare. With my dry, frizz-prone and color treated strands, I love moisturizing haircare formulas – the more hydrating the better if you ask me. And that’s the reason I love sulfate-free cleansing conditioners that do not leave my hair feeling stripped of moisture and keep my dull, not-so-well-behaved wavy locks in a better shape!
My latest cleansing conditioner entry is Keracolor Clenditioner. What makes this conditioning cleanser so unique is that besides conditioning hair and adding shine, this product contains a Krystal Water Complex that neutralizes hair-damaging chlorine and trace minerals (such as copper, lead, magnesium and iron) commonly found in tap water. This not only helps protect your hair against damage, but it saves and preserves your color too.
The Keracolor system also includes a Purify Plus Leave-In Conditioning Treatment with two types : regular Purify Plus, which is made for medium to thick or coarse hair, and Purify Plus Lite, which is made for fine to medium hair that also gives an extra boost of body with is volumizing agents.
In addition to neutralizing nasty impurities that destroy hair and zap your color, Keracolor products have even more benefits: each are keratin-based to help rebuild & strenghten damaged hair and prevent breakage. They also provide a pH balance of 4.5, which closes the cuticle and leaves hair smooth and shiny.
As with any sulfate-free cleanser, you need to make sure to wet your hair thoroughly and then apply the Keracolor Clenditioner generously to fully saturate hair from roots to ends. Now, massage the creamy cleanser throughout your hair, adding some water if needed. Unlike traditional shampoos with detergents/sulfates, this is a creamy no-lather formula with mild cleansing agents that won’t strip color or natural oils. For maximum conditioning, leave in hair for 2-5 minutes as you finish up your shower and then rinse out thoroughly. It won’t cause any build-up or leave your hair weighted down. There’s no need to follow up with a separate conditioner.
I found that Keracolor Clenditioner leaves my hair thoroughly clean, soft and smooth. Also, I really like its light floral scent! As for the keratin leave-in conditioning treatment, I tried the Purify Plus Lite that really helped in smoothing and detangling my strands but wasn’t hydrating enough for my thick hair. I think the regular Purify Plus would definitely be a better choice for my hair type.
