L'Occitane Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balms SPF 25

Press sample New for spring, L’Occitane has introduced a skincare & cosmetics line called Pivoine Sublime (“Sublime Peony”). Inspired by the absolute perfection of the peony flower, the Pivoine Sublime range offers simple and natural perfection through a collection of five products formulated with botanical ingredients and L’Occitane proprietary Perfecting Peony Complex.

The Pivoine Sublime range features a Perfecting Essence, Perfecting Cream, CC Cream, Perfecting Mist, and 4 Tinted Lip Balms: Transparent, Rose Nude, Rose Amber, and Rose Plum. Today I am showcasing 3 of the new Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balms. Enriched with Shea Butter and a perfecting peony extract, these lip balms are formulated to nourish, smooth and protect lips with SPF 25, while adding a fresh and natural color.

As always for any L’Occitane products, the packaging of the Pivoine Sublime Lip Balms is gorgeous! The fancy looking metal tubes are in fact very similar to the popular Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments. In terms of formula, these lip balms have a lightweight creamy texture that glides on super smoothly and feels silky & hydrating on my lips. They have a sweet floral scent/flavor that’s not too strong thankfully!

Although nicely moisturizing, these are not as deeply nourishing as the Fresh Sugar lip balms. That said, I really like that the Pivoine Sublime lip balms are not so squishy-soft and much more stable to be easily tucked in your purse/beach bag, especially great for summer months! And because of the lightweight texture, they are also a great option to wear underneath a lipstick. Plus, these have a much-appreciated SPF 25!

As for the pigmentation, it’s sheer but easily buildable and adds a soft, pretty pop of color to the lips. My favorite shade is Rose Amber, a lovely dusky rose. Rose Plum (reddish-pink) is the most pigmented while Rose Nude is a light rosy pink, perfect for a natural “my lips but better” look. Here are the swatches :
