Kajal has been a beauty staple for me since my college years (back in India), long before I was a beauty junkie. It was the only makeup I used to wear everyday to add a bit more definition to my small eyes and make them look bigger (and more awake!)
I think it was a Lakme (a popular makeup brand in India) kajal that started my kajal obsession. It wasn’t really waterproof or smudge-proof so I often ended up with raccoon eyes by mid-day, especially in hot summer days! Did that stop me from using it? Nope!
Not surprisingly, I have tried a lot of kajal pencils since then and still on the hunt for the perfect kohl-kajal eyeliner that glides on with ease, stays in place, and has vibrant color…it’s one of my desert island beauty products, after all!
Today I am excited to introduce you to my latest find – Sonia Kashuk Dramatically Intensifying Kajal.
There are a lot of reasons to love this kajal! First off, I like the chic and sleek gold metallic tube with a tapered conical shape. It has a creamy, super soft formula (blended with emollient rose and mimosa waxes) that is so incredibly smooth going on, never even the slightest tug!
It glides on effortlessly along the waterline as well as the upper lash line and the versatile conal kajal tip allows you to create thin or thick lines for a sultry smoky eye or a sleek cat-eye look.
I like to use this kajal mostly on the waterline but it has also become my go-to black eyeliner for an easy cat-eye. The rich black inky-ness of this eyeliner is beautiful with a solid color payoff that lasts all day, without fading or smudging.
On my waterline, the color tends to lose vibrancy over the course of the day, but still lasts a good 5-6 hours (I do wish it was longer!) Also, the gentle formula doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes but the best part is that the color doesn’t run out or smudge around the inner corners of my eyes, so I don’t have to worry about messy raccoon eyes at the end of the day…that’s always a big plus!
Overall, Sonia Kashuk Dramatically Intensifying Kajal has totally earned my seal of approval! Not only is it beautifully pigmented, but the ultra-smooth formula won’t leave you looking smudged and smeary at the end of the day.
Take it from a kajal addict, this is one product to have in your arsenal, especially when it comes with an affordable price tag of just $8.99 at Target.
Are you a kajal eyeliner fan? Will you be trying this one out?
