New from Mirabella Beauty, the Jewel Thief collection features two eye palettes and two lip colors for holiday 2015. The eyeshadow palettes, Diamond Deceit and Lavender Larceny, include five vibrant, multi-dimensional complementary colors in a 3D jewel inspired formation – two sparkling drop earrings on a shimmering pink background. These are simply stunning!
“The eyes dominate this season with a smudgy, rich, pearlescent smoky eye like never seen before. Diamond Deceit and Lavender Larceny offer something exciting and different for eyes both in the product presentation and the incredible formula.” explains Amber Bowen, Mirabella Creative Director. “We’re using a new technology that combines five shades into one 3D shadow, allowing the eyes to glow and look bejeweled for the holidays. I took my inspiration from gifting jewelry and packaged the shadows in a soft touch black compact similar to a jewelry box.”
These new eyeshadow palettes are made with a “second skin” formula that combines liquid and powder for a silky texture that applies evenly and is designed to last without a primer. Formulated with a high percentage of pearls, the eyeshadows have an iridescent, frosty finish. Diamond Deceit has silver, pink, gray, charcoal and aquamarine tones while Lavender Larceny offers shimmery jewel tones of purple ranging from lilac to eggplant.
I have the Diamond Deceit palette and love the beautiful shades that are perfect for a glam wintery look. The formula lives upto its claim of being vibrant and easy to blend with a silky-smooth texture. The shades have a shimmery, frosty finish that looks pretty (not too sparkly) and brightens up your eyes. Although very cute, it can be a little tricky sometimes to work with the jewel pattern if you are not careful! Mirabella suggests using your fingertip to swipe the colors on for easy application but I prefer using a brush.
Pigmentation wise, the shades have a nice color payoff, with the gunmetal gray/charcoal and aquamarine being the most pigmented while the pink one is on the sheer side. As for the longevity, the formula lasts quite well around 7-9 hours without creasing which is pretty good!
The Jewel Thief collection also includes two new shades of Mirabella’s Velvet Lip Pencils in Wanted, a rich berry and Vice, a neutral pink apricot. The one I have is Wanted, it’s a beautiful easy-to-wear rose shade with a satiny, creamy matte finish. The formula is lightweight, hydrating with a great color payoff and wears comfortably throughout without ever drying out my lips…it has already become one of my go-to lippies for fall!
Next is the Mirabella Eye Crayon in Blackmail (a rich matte black). I LOVE this creamy eye pencil….it’s so silky-soft and glides on effortlessly with an intense color payoff! The waterproof, matte black formula is perfect for a smudgy, smoky eye. It’s really long-wearing and lasts very well without smearing even on the wateline which is always a big plus in my book! Here are the swatches :
Overall, I’m really pleased with the Mirabella Beauty Jewel Thief Collection! I am especially loving the Eye Crayon while the Velvet Lip Pencil is a great pick for those on the hunt for a creamy non-drying matte lippie!
