mē clear blue light acne treatment device, I couldn’t resist the urge to give it a go! In my battle against breakouts, I’ve tried everything from salicylic acid treatments, prescription topical creams, swallowing supplements, spot-treating with benzoyl peroxide, as well as trying natural concotions from my kitchen blender. Some things work well, some don’t…the struggle is real, people! So, when I was introduced to the
mē clear blue light acne treatment device
mē clear anti-blemish device harnesses the power of blue light to treat mild to moderate inflammatory acne and promises to help fade blemishes in just 24 hours. Its tri-action technology combines blue light, sonic vibration and gentle warming to eliminate acne-causing bacteria known as P. Acnes.
Benefits
- No dryness or irritation
- Quick 2-minute treatments are easy to fit into your daily routine
- Rechargeable and portable so it’s always ready to use anywhere, any time
- For all skin types
How it works
- Blue light: 414nm blue light works primarily on the surface of the skin (penetrating approximately 1.5mm) to destroy the P.acnes bacteria
- Sonic vibration: Increases microcirculation to reduce swelling and inflammation while agitating the skin to expose more of the bacteria to the light
- Gentle warming: Produced by the light energy, opens pores and allows the light to reach more bacteria
How to use
- Cleanse your skin to remove any makeup or creams
- Start the device by pressing the power button. You will hear a short audible beep and battery indicator lights will signal the device is ready for use.
- Treat your skin simply by placing the device steady over your blemish. Hold and treat until you hear a single audible beep (2 minutes). For best results, treat your blemish 3 times a day
- After treatment apply your favorite non-comedogenic skincare products
So, does the mē clear anti-blemish device really work? Yes, it does help for sure! The blue light is slightly warm but completely painless, it switches on when the device is in contact with the skin and turns off when you move it away. It is supposed to be used for 2 minutes, 3 times a day and that’s what I have been doing.
As for the effectiveness, I’d say it definitely helps my breakouts heal up more quickly while reducing redness and inflammation. My pimples don’t disappear in 24 hours as promised but I could see the ‘acne situation getting under control’ and depending on how nasty the pimple is, it’s almost completely gone after about 3-4 days.
I find that you get the best results if you use it at the very first sign of a blemish brewing under your skin, and nip it in the bud! This device is not meant to be used for treating severe nodular or cystic acne though and is best suited for mild to moderate inflammatory acne.
I think mē clear anti-blemish device is a worthwhile option for anyone who wants to avoid prescription oral or topical medications (many of which come with potential side effects) or if your skin is sensitive to common anti-acne treatments like benzoyl peroxide. The blue-light therapy targets acne-causing bacteria — without any pain, dryness or irritation.
I love that you don’t have to buy any replacement cartridges or anything and the device offers unlimited blue LED treatments. Another benefit is that it’s portable, rechargeable and convenient, and takes just 2 minutes, 3 times a day. And at just $39, it’s definitely a much more affordable option compared to blue-light therapy sessions at the dermatologist’s office for which you could be charged upto $100 per treatment.
