Made with brown, blonde, and white sugar, each of these L’Oreal Pure Sugar Scrubs have a different formula designed to address specific skin concerns like clogged pores or dull, dry skin.
Smooth & Glow (with grapeseed oil and acai) offers a slightly coarser exfoliation to smooth and perk up dull skin.
Nourish & Soften (with cocoa and coconut oil) makes dry skin feel soft and supple.
Purify & Unclog (with kiwi seeds and lemongrass) deeply yet gently exfoliates clogged pores
I love using face scrubs, especially in winter, as an exfoliating treatment but some of the scrubs I’ve tried before ended up being a bit too harsh or irritating for my dry, sensitive skin. However, I am happy to report that the new L’Oreal Pure Sugar Scrub has been kind on my skin and smooths away dullness gently yet effectively!
Along with a blend of three pure sugars, L’Oréal Pure-Sugar Purify & Unclog Face Scrub also contains peppermint and lemongrass oils plus real kiwi seeds to exfoliate deeply yet gently and unclog pores.
This bright green colored face scrub has a thick gel texture with a fruity scent. The formula is said to be suitable for all skin types, and can also be used to smooth and refine lips.
The directions suggest to smooth a small amount of the scrub with dry fingers on clean, dry skin (avoiding the eye area). Then massage over your face with wet wingers. Rinse off with warm water. This scrub can be used up to 3 times a week.
I found the gel texture easy to apply and massage over my skin. The formula washes away easily too, no stickiness or residue! But what I like the most about the formula is that it’s scrubby and exfoliates well but not harsh or rough on my skin. The sugar particles in the scrub are very fine and not too gritty or abrasive.
This pure sugar scrub leaves my skin feeling very soft, smooth, and refreshed. It really does a great job of polishing away dullness without ever irritating my skin and I can easily use it about 2-3 times a week as needed.
If you look at the ingredients list, glycerin is right at the top, which is probably why the formula is also hydrating and won’t dry out your skin.
The only thing I didn’t like much about this scrub is its fruity fragrance. It’s not overwhelming but fairly strong. When it comes to skincare products, I always prefer formulas that are only lightly scented or fragrance-free (which is best for sensitive skin!)
Bottom Line
Overall, count me impressed with the new L’Oréal Pure-Sugar Purify & Unclog Face Scrub. With a rich gel-like texture and gentle, hydrating formula, it has been a delightful addition to my winter skincare routine. If you enjoy a good exfoliating face scrub, definitely give this one a try!
