When it comes to lipsticks, fall is my favorite season! There’s nothing better than a bold lipstick for fall. As the warm weather turns crisp & cooler with autumn’s arrival, our makeup routine could all use a bump of color on our pout, whether it be a bold red, sultry wine or deep burgundy.
Rich, dark lipsticks are kinda like my guilty pleasure when fall and winter rolls around. Our wardrobe undeniably becomes a little moodier—and you can’t deny the edgy, sexy vibe a deep wine or bold brown lipstick adds to the ensemble. It’s an easy way to spice up your makeup look with minimal effort for the sweater season!
Here are some of my current favorite fall lipstick shades that will be my go-to this season for a Zoom happy hour to a work-from-home day and any socially distant occasion in between!
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk Medium ($34)
This is such a beautiful warm-toned brown pink. I don’t have the original Pillow Talk lipstick but so glad I snagged this medium version! It’s the perfect nude lipstick for light to medium skin tones like mine.
It’s a lovely rose brown shade that’s just right – not too dark, not too light! The color is buildable so I can wear it casually with a light hand, or layered up for a more opaque finish.
Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipstick in Omi 107 ($38)
This is a gorgeous mid-tone moody rose shade with plum undertones that’s absolute perfection for fall! It gives me a dramatic look without going overboard or looking vampy!
One solid swipe of this pigment-packed lipstick is all it takes to get full-coverage color. Not to mention, it has a luxurious matte finish that’s not drying.
IT Cosmetics Pillow Lips Lipstick in Serene (Satin Finish) $24
This one is a medium terracotta brown lipstick that warms up my complexion without overpowering it. My favorite brown lipstick ever!
It’s such a flattering shade for warm-toned light to medium skin tones. Also, the formula is so creamy and comfortable with a satin finish, yet fairly long-wearing.
Mirabella Beauty Sealed With a Kiss Lipstick in Mulberry Mocha ($22)
This is a stunning rose plum lipstick that’s rich and sultry, yet perfect for everyday wear. The color is not too intense and adds just the right amount of drama!
Consider it an amped up neutral. Plus the formula provides a creamy and hydrating satin-matte finish that lasts.
Wet n Wild Mega Last Matte Lip Color in Wine Room ($1.99)
This bright berry lipstick is punchy and statement-making without being too loud. I love the vibrant color that really ‘pops’ on my skin and brightens any makeup look.
The formula is truly long-lasting but the matte finish feels a bit drying through the day (a layer of lip balm underneath does help!)
Milani Bold Color Statement Matte Lipstick in I Am Radiant ($6.99)
This is a matte terracotta lipstick that’s so appropriately autumnal! The cozy, warm-toned hue is great to take your lip look from subtle to stand-out.
The finish is matte but not ‘ultra-matte’ and I really like that! It glides on with ease and gives me several hours of solid wear without being drying (big plus for the cooler months!)
