When it comes to the the biggest makeup trends of 2016, liquid lipstick definitely tops the list! Whether it be drugstore or high-end, almost every brand has introduced long-wearing pigmented liquid lipsticks so there are plenty of options in the market right now but finding the right one that doesn’t dry out your lips and actually stays put can be a bit of a struggle.
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Lip Paint is one of the latest long-wearing liquid lipstick entries in the drugstore aisle. The formula promises high-impact bold color saturated with pigments and long-lasting comfortable wear in a variety of shades, from nude to bold. Does it really live up to the claims? Let’s take a look…
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Lip Paints are available in 14 colors, ranging from neutrals like Nude Star and Spicy Blush to vibrant & bold shades such as Domineering Teal, Navy Spy, Orange Envy, Lilac Lust and Bewitching Bordeaux. I picked up two shades from Ulta – Nude Star and Wild Rose.
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Lip Paints come in a squeeze tube with a wand that has a sponge-tipped applicator which makes the application easy and not messy at all! Formula wise, it has a creamy liquid lipstick feel with an opaque color payoff and a shiny finish. Yup, it’s not matte (unlike most liquid lipsticks out there!) I’m not complaining though. But if you are totally #teammatte, this might not be the right liquid lipstick match for you.
I really like that the formula has a hydrating, comfortable feel and doesn’t leave my lips starved for moisture, which is great especially now that it’s winter ( dry lips) season. It’s actually slightly more hydrating than the Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paints and Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick.
I am loving both the shades but Nude Star is the one I find myself reaching for quite often! It’s the perfect neutral lip color for me that works anytime with any outfit! The other shade Wild rose is perfect for when I want a pretty pop of pink on my lips. Both the shades have a great color payoff!
As much as I love the feel of the formula, it leaves a little something to be desired when it comes to longevity. The staying power is good but not very impressive…I get about 3-4 hours on average and that too if I didn’t take a coffee or lunch break. The formula isn’t smudge/transfer-proof either and tends to leave behind stains on my tea cups. Here are the swatches of Nude Star and Wild Rose…
And here are swatches of all 14 shades of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Lip Paints on three skin tones via Allure (Shown in the following order: Sultry Sangria, DIY Red, Orange Envy, Cool Coral, Fearless Fuschia, Wild Rose, Spicy Blush, Nude Star, Taupeless, Navy Spy, Domineering Teal, Bewitching Bordeaux, Violet Twist, and Lilac Lust.)
Overall, L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paints get a two thumbs up from me! If you are looking for a pigment-packed glossy liquid lipstick (under $10) that won’t dry out your lips and is fairly long-lasting, these lippies are a must-try! Available now at Ulta, Walgreens and drugstores nationwide for $9.99 each.
Have you tried these liquid lipsticks yet? What shades do you like the most?
