There’s no denying that our beauty routines have changed a lot during quarantine. I personally have been leaning more into skincare (I know that’s nothing new!)
With the ongoing COVID-19 precautions, I’ve been turning more to beauty products that are the next best thing to a salon appointment, like root touch-ups for gray hair and at-home face peel for spa facial-like results.
I generally err on the side of “no thanks” when it comes to intensive chemical peels and leave it to the pros but given the current situation, visiting my favorite spa for a facial isn’t an option, so I decided to give the Perfect Image Revitaboost Peel Pads a go. And I am glad I did because I ended up loving it a lot!
Revitaboost Peel Pads are so quick and easy-to-use with minimal discomfort, give me spa-like results and there’s not a lot of down-time so to speak. This is truly an effective and easy face peel at home! And the best part it’s super affordable at only $30 (which ends up being $1 per treatment!) so you get the best bang for your buck!
So, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of this at-home face peel!
Perfect Image Revitaboost Peel Pads are a professional strength anti-aging peel treatment on pre-soaked cotton towelettes that help smooth, clarify and improve skin texture.
These peel pads are comprised of a unique ADV 5-Acid Delivery System – Glycolic Acid 15% | Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) 15% | Mandelic Acid 3% | Malic Acid | Citric Acid
Plus, the peel is enhanced with Arginine, Glutamine and Soybean Extract, along with natural botanical extracts like soothing green tea, cucumber, chamomile, ylang ylang and willow bark extract.
Formulated as a convenient and easy-to-use pads, this pro-level face peel helps reduce the appearance of acne scars, blemishes, fine lines and hyperpigmentation. Not only does it smooth skin texture and evens out skin tone but also stimulates collagen production.
In short, Perfect Image peel pads are a less potent version of the in-office peel you can get from a dermatologist or spa, but at a mere fraction of the price!
Full Ingredients:
Deionized Water, Glycolic Acid, Trichloroacetic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Mandelic Acid, Malic Acid (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), Citric Acid (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), Cananga Odorata Flower Extract (Ylang Ylang), Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos Leaf) Extract, Yarrow Extract (Achillea Millefolium), Emblica Officinalis Fruit Extract, Willow Bark Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Green Tea Extract (Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract), Chamomile (Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract), Comfrey (Symphytum Officinale), Arginine, Glutamine, Gamma (Linolenic) Acid
Revitaboost Peel Pads jar comes with 30 single-use pads pre-soaked with the liquid peel. The directions say to swipe the peel pad evenly across your face, wait 1 minute and then rinse it off thoroughly with cool water. The cotton pads are quite nice and not the least bit flimsy. With such a strong concentration of exfoliating acids, it does sting but it’s bearable.
When I used this peel for the first time, I made sure not to leave the peel on my skin beyond the recommended 1 minute (to avoid any irritation) And I always follow up with a hydrating serum and moisturizer after the peel. Now that I have used the peel a few times, my skin can handle it for 2 minutes max.
Your skin needs to build up tolerance before you can (slowly) increase the contact time and/or number of layers on subsequent treatments. Longer time is not better in this case!
Not only will that tingling sensation start to bother you, but it can leave your skin red or irritated…always start slow and follow the directions exactly! Do not apply the peel more than once per week and of course don’t forget to use a sunscreen every single day.

It takes about 3 days for the peeling to start and lasts until about a week. I have used the peel 4 times so far and each time the peeling has been mild to moderate, noticeable but nothing crazy. Between days 3-5 after each treatment, the flakiness and peeling was apparent especially on my cheeks and around my mouth area. So there’s a bit of down time there!
According to the brand, not everyone will experience visible peeling afterwards as the results vary depending on skin sensitivity, contact time and skin density.
It all sounds rather intense, but the results are more than worth it! These peel pads have made a major improvement in my uneven skin tone and texture as my skin looks and feels much smoother and brighter! Are my acne scars lighter? Only a bit, I haven’t noticed a big difference yet! That said, I am hopeful that with continued use over time, this at-home face peel will help diminish those dark spots and blemishes!
Revitaboost Peel Pads are so easy-to-use and super affordable, considering how little this at-home face peel costs in comparison to pricey in-office peels or facials, which can cost $200 or more (a luxury most of us can’t afford!)
With these peel pads, you can achieve similar results for just $30 and they can be equally effective when used as a regular part of your skincare routine. And with 30 pads in one jar, you are spending only $1 per treatment!
There are a lot of at-home face peel options in the market but most of them have 10% or lower concentration of glycolic acid. As I mentioned in the beginning, this is a much stronger peel with a blend of 5 alpha-hydroxy-acids in high concentrations (but safe enough to use in your bathroom without causing irritation)
Whether you’re someone who gets regular facial peels or not, now’s a good time to give your skin some extra TLC and get glowing skin…without spending big bucks!
I do want to mention that if this is your first foray into chemical peels or you have sensitive skin or rosacea, this at-home face peel might be too strong for you!
