Today I have a quick roundup of 5 of my current favorite lipsticks for fall that I find myself reaching for again and again these days.
My fall lipstick wardrobe always consists of warm-toned, darker shades that are a bit moody and make a statement without being too bold or vampy. This fall I’ve been gravitating more towards rich hues of red and brown.
Not only do these lipsticks give me great color payoff, but also feel comfortable and moisturizing on the lips and still manage to last through the day with minimal touch ups. Cozy, comfy and chic…yes, please!!
Here are some of my favorite lipsticks for fall….maybe you’ll also find your new lipstick BFF in this list!
Urban Decay Vice Hydrating Matte Lipstick in The Big One ($19)
Urban Decay recently reformulated their Vice lipsticks to become even more pigmented and hydrating! This is a warm brick red shade that’s perfect to cozy up for fall with. Here’s a picture of me wearing it.
This lipstick has a rich, nearly opaque color payoff in just one to two swipes. It’s creamy and lightweight with a velvet-matte finish and glides on smoothly without any drag or dryness. It’s truly a comfortable matte lipstick that rocks in the color payoff department and is long-lasting too.
L’Oreal Colour Riche Les Nus Intense Lipstick in Nu Extreme $6.99
This is a rich brown with subtle orange-red undertones that instantly warm ups my complexion. It also pairs well with warm eyeshadows.
Besides the beautiful color, this lipstick also has a creamy smooth formula that wears comfortably and the longevity is excellent. It’s become my front-runner when I want a lipstick that gives both high-pigment and hydration. For under $7, this drugstore lipstick is a steal!
YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick in 83 Rouge Cape ($38)
This is a beautiful blue-based red lipstick with a medium-coverage, hydrating formula and high-shine finish. Infused with 6 nourishing natural oils and hyaluronic acid, it has a balm-like texture that just melts into lips for a glossy pop of color and moisture. If your dry lips need TLC, this is the lipstick for you!
I have to say the color payoff is amazing for a glossy lipstick and even though it does transfer onto coffee cups, the pigment stays put for the most part and leaves a stain behind as it fades.
Rosso Valentino Refillable Lipstick in 213R Sensuous Red ($55)
There’s nothing more classic than a bold red lip and this ravishing red with plum undertones is just perfect for fall and winter. This luxurious lipstick is loaded with pigment and delivers rich, opaque color in a single swipe. Bonus: it’s also transfer proof, so it doesn’t rub off on my face mask.
Not to mention, the packaging is simply stunning! The formula is so creamy with a velvety-soft feel and doesn’t dry out my lips in the slightest. And I love its satin finish that’s very comfortable, lightweight and long-lasting. This will be my go-to red lipstick in the festive holiday season!
Urban Decay Vice Hydrating Shine Lipstick in Love Trap ($19)
This is a sheer deep plum lipstick with a glossy finish that’s perfect to wear if I’m going for a more minimalist, natural makeup look but want a pretty pop of color. It’s a warm plum-pink that has become my everyday go-to lip shade. It pairs well with my makeup whether I’m rocking just a bit of mascara or full on smokey eyes!
As for the formula of this lipstick, it’s lightweight, moisturizing and glides on like silk. Despite the glossy finish, the pigmentation is pretty good in a couple of swipes so you need not worry about multiple coats and the color holds up well too.
