The new Prequel Multi-Acid Milk Peel is a chemical exfoliating solution that is designed to smooth and brighten without compromising the skin barrier.
Formulated with a multi-acid complex including 15% glycolic, phytic, malic, mandelic and lactic acids, this milky solution boosts surface renewal, improves the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles while reducing hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
The potent formula also contains lipase and protease enzymes that help exfoliate, unclog pores and improve overall skin texture. Plus, the formula has skin-soothing ingredients and emollients like squalane, glycerin, tricaprylin and ethylhexyl olivate that protect the skin barrier and ensure skin feels soft and hydrated.
This AHA peel is formulated at an optimal pH level of 3.3 +/- to provide bioavailable glycolic acid.

Prequel Multi-Acid Milk AHA Peel Key Ingredients:
- Multi-Acid Complex: a blend of 15% glycolic, phytic, malic, mandelic and lactic acid exfoliates and brightens skin for a smoother, more even-looking complexion and enhance skin radiance.
- Enzymes: lipase and protease provide smoother looking skin by aiding in the break down of the glue between topical dead skin cells for enhanced exfoliation
- Squalane: an olive-derived emollient that softens and hydrates for skin that is soft and supple
With a high concentration of an AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) blend, this leave-on exfoliant is definitely on the intense side and not suitable for sensitive skin. The brand recommends using it once or twice a week at night, but no more than twice a week. Be sure to start slowly when incorporating it into your routine.
I like to use this peel twice a week at night and that has worked well for me! To use, dispense a few shakes into hands or a cotton pad and apply to a clean, dry face and neck (and even to the chest and backs of hands) avoiding the eye area.
The lightweight milky-liquid formula glides on and absorbs easily. There’s a slight tingling when I apply it initially but that dissipates quickly. After then I follow with a hydrating serum and night cream or moisturizer. Now that I have used this peel a number of times, I don’t feel much tingling anymore as my skin seems to have adjusted to it.
I have been using this product for about 3-4 weeks now and it has especially helped in smoothing my skin texture. And I love the glow it gives me the next morning! The best part is that I haven’t experienced any irritation despite this being a high-strength formula. Also, it can be used as a spot treatment.
A few times, I have also used this milky exfoliating solution on my body where I need a little help with smoothing bumpy or rough texture and it works like a charm! This peel has become a new staple in my skincare routine. I am hoping it will also help fade my dark spots and discoloration due to sun damage…looking forward to see further results with continued use.

Make sure to skip any retinol serum or cream on the night you use the Prequel Multi-Acid Milk Peel. Both retinol and AHA’s are potent active ingredients that should not be used at the same time as the combination can be too harsh for your protective skin barrier and leave skin irritated.
And of course, with any chemical exfoliation, it is very important to use a sunscreen during daytime in order to protect the fresh radiant skin you are revealing.
Bottom Line
Prequel Multi-Acid Milk AHA Peel is an effective chemical exfoliant for dull, congested skin! It really lives up to its claims of improving skin tone and texture with consistent use for a smoother, clear complexion.
Not to mention, this product comes with an affordable price tag – $23 for a 7.6 fl oz bottle. Yes, the bottle is pretty big and it will last a long time. Most of the other exfoliating toners or serums with similar ingredients are less than half the size (and sometimes double the price!), so it’s good to see a potent exfoliating peel that really delivers on its promises while being budget-friendly!
PS: I think Prequel Multi-Acid Milk AHA Peel is a great dupe for Drunk Elephant Framboos Glycolic Night Serum ($90 for 1oz) that contains a 10% blend of glycolic, lactic, tartaric and citric acid for chemical exfoliation. So, not only is the Prequel peel cheaper, but also more potent with a higher (15%) concentration of glycolic acid, yet gentle enough to be used twice a week. Of course, the Prequel formula doesn’t contain as many antioxidant-rich plant extracts as the Drunk Elephant one but for $23, it’s a fantastic option easily available at Target or Amazon!
Available at Target, prequelskin.com and Amazon.com for $23
