Hair oils are hotter than ever! While smoothing your strands with oil might seem counter-intuitive, gone are the days when you would balk at the idea of intentionally putting oil in your hair for fear of potentially greasy, un-stylable mess. The new generation of lighter, multi-faceted oils can easily work as your leave-in conditioner, styling cream, frizz serum, and shine spray all-in-one!
I’ve been testing out a bunch of new hair oils for the past few weeks, and these three really stuck out to me! Not only do these miracle workers give your locks a little luster but also add some much-needed moisture.
SILKtáge Scalp Repair Pre-Wash Healing Oil Treatment ( ($20, 2.0 oz) – An infusion of healing organic botanical oils including Argan oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil and red palm oil, this all-natural pre-shampoo treatment soothes your scalp to fight dryness, itchiness and dandruff. It also calms scalp inflammation while stimulating hair growth and nourishing your scalp. It can also be used as a hot-oil treatment to provide nourishment deep within the shaft of your hair. If you have dry and damaged hair that is prone to breakage, this one will help you get your strands back into shape.
Brazilian Blowout Acai Brazilian Dry Oil ($26, 3.4 oz.) – This fast-absorbing, ultra lightweight oil feels more like a hair serum and won’t render your hair into an oil slick. Infused with antioxidant-rich acai berry and Brazilian Blowout’s exclusive super-nutrient complex, this dry oil works to mend thirsty hair, hydrate crunchy ends and improve the overall health of your tresses while keeping the frizzies away. It also reduces drying time and can be used on wet or dry hair. Safe for color-treated hair. Available at Planet Beauty and select salons.
It Haircare Abyssinian Gold Shine Drops ($8.99, 1.7 oz) – This concentrated serum treatment fortified with Abyssinian and Pequi Oils helps protect hair while imparting shine and smoothing the hair cuticle before heat styling. Rich in anti-oxidants, proteins, and lipids, this one is a one-stop-shop for dry, brittle locks and tames frizz without leaving any greasy residue or build up. Plus, it smells delish! Available at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS and other mass market retailers.
Quick tip : When you’re using a hair oil to style your hair, apply it from ends to mid-length to avoid the oily scalp pitfall. And make sure to start with a small amount until you figure out how much your hair needs — you can always apply more.

I am addicted to hair oils! I think I might try all of these. Right now my staples are coconut oil, castor oil, and olive oil, but the summer months ahead will probably make me pull a little switcheroo. I need to add some new lightweight oils to my rotation. Thanks for the tips!
Good luck on this weeks’ Links A La Mode!
Stick Out!
