A few weeks ago, I did a preview post on a new makeup product called GLEAM body radiance that has been created by Emmy Award winning and celebrity makeup artist Melanie Mills. Gleam Body Radiance is a luminizing body makeup that hydrates, perfects and enhances the appearance of skin while imparting a glowy radiance. Melanie is the former head make-up artist for ABC’s smash hit Dancing with the Stars and she initially developed Gleam body radiance exclusively for the show’s celebrity contestants and professional dancers. In fact, the producers of the show have recently made it mandatory that all participants on the show use the product!
I recently got an opportunity to try Gleam body radiance and needless to say, I was excited about it! The best part is that Gleam Body Radiance is infused with skin-benefiting botanical ingredients like Olive Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Safflower Seed Oil, antioxidants Japanese Green Tea and White Tea extracts, Aloe Leaf Extract and Brown Seaweed (a hydrating marine extract that stimulates synthesis of Hyaluronic acid and increases elasticity). Gleam’s creamy formula not only nourishes and improves the texture of your skin but also refines skin tone by softening the look of wrinkles and skin imperfections. Here are the samples that I got :
I really like the soft, iridescent consistency of this lotion that blends smoothly and imparts a velvety sheen to the skin. I just dab a little on my cheekbones, neck, decollete and arms and it makes my skin look luminous (not over-the-top-shimmery). Since Gleam does not have SPF protection, make sure to mist an oil-free sunscreen over it if you are wearing it out in the sun. Gleam is also lightly scented with a hint of vanilla but I don’t find it overwhelming. Gleam’s transfer-resistant formula does not stain clothes and sets to a long-wearing, velvety finish – great for dance parties and night outs! For maximum transfer-resistant efficacy, it is best to use Gleam on dry clean skin with no other lotions or products.
Gleam comes in 4 different shades so there is a skin-flattering shade for all skin tones :
LIGHT GOLD is the lightest color with a pale yellow base that counteracts ruddy and reddish skin undertones; ideal for fair skin.
ROSE GOLD : This is my favorite shade and blends really well with my light to medium skin tone to impart a subtle dewy glow.
BRONZE GOLD : This shade is pure bronze. It’s the third deepest shade with yellow-orange undertone, perfect for medium to deep skin tones.
DEEP GOLD is rich, luminous chocolate soufflé, with red velvet undertones that doesn’t look ashy on skin. Meant for the most melanin-rich skin tones and hides pigment patches, scars, stretch marks, dark knees and elbows.
Here are the swatches :
I am hooked to this illuminating lotion and love the Rose Gold as a highlighter on my face. The darker shades give me a gorgeous bronzy tint without tanning or sun exposure. Gleam retails at $40 for a 3.5oz tube and it’s a little steep for the amount you get but it’s well worth a try if you are lusting for a glamorous all-over radiant look this summer!

Reena – I love the shimmery effect too as long as it’s not too much. And yeah, Gleam is definitely worth a try 🙂
