CeraVe Renewing SA Cream is another new addition to the CeraVe skincare family, hitting shelves this month along with the Therapeutic Hand Cream that I have already reviewed here. Developed to exfoliate, soften and smooth extremely dry, rough, bumpy skin – such as the rough patches on upper arms and legs, the renewing SA cream combines all of CeraVe’s fantastic moisturizing agents with the exfoliating power of salicylic acid and ammonium lactate.
CeraVe Renewing SA Cream comes in a big 12 oz. jar. While I am not a fan of the jar packaging, the formula itself is fantastic for severely dry skin. The key ingredients in the cream are Salicylic acid (SA) and ammonium lactate that help loosen and exfoliate dead skin cells, allowing moisturizing ingredients such as ceramides, hyaluronic acid and vitamin D to penetrate deeper layers of the skin for enhanced effectiveness. Plus, the cream also includes niacinamide, which has been clinically shown to help skin produce ceramides and fatty acids essential for repairing and restoring the skin barrier and may reduce skin redness.
Although it’s very hydrating, I don’t find the consistency of the product to be extra thick or heavy. The cream absorbs quickly, never leaving my skin feeling greasy. I’ve been using it as soon as I get out of the shower and it keeps my skin quenched all day long. You can count on this cream to take care of those dry, rough patches and also keep your knees, elbows soft. And yeah, the dermatologist-developed formula is also non-comedogenic and fragrance-free, making it perfect for senstive skin.
Botton Line – When your skin hits a bumpy patch, CeraVe Renewing SA Cream is definitely worth trying out! It can really help heal extremely dry and rough skin.
Available now at drugstores and mass market retailers nationwide for $22.99
