Just when you thought you’d caught up with the BB cream craze, here comes CC creams! While BB creams are known as Blemish Balms, CC stands for Color Correction/Color Control creams. Introduced as a refined version of our beloved BB creams, CC creams are meant to provide skincare benefits and better corrective coverage for your skin with a focus on color correction (redness, dull skin, sallowness)
Now that we’ve covered the basics of a CC cream, let’s jump to the review of the first one that landed on my desk recently – Supergoop! Daily Correct SPF 35 CC Cream.
Product Description :
Supergoop! CC Cream combines the functionality of a primer/foundation with the anti-aging benefits of skin serums to protect, correct, and smooth uneven skin. A silky formula that covers imperfections in an easy one-step product blended with light-diffusing mica which instantly softens the look of lines, wrinkles and pores–leaving behind a fresh and flawless face.
The Promise
- Neutralizes discolorations and blotchiness, restoring vibrancy and glow
- Protects from UVA, UVB, and IRA (infrared rays) – highest PA+++ rating for highest UVA protection
- Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids improve skin moisture and reduce skin inflammation
- Softens the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and pores
- Free of oxybenzone, parabens, and fragrances
This CC cream has a creamy, velvety feeling oil-free texture. It applies smoothly and blends right into the skin providing light to medium coverage that looks and feels very natural. The formula can be easily layered on for extra coverage where needed and even so it doesn’t look or feel heavy on the skin. With the summer months quickly approaching, I love how it feels so lightweight while still providing good coverage (always a plus for oily to combination skin!). It smooths and evens out my skin tone very nicely and in terms of color correction, it does take care of the slight redness that I have around my nose and cheeks.
Supergoop! Daily Correct SPF 35 CC Cream comes in two self-adjusting shades to suit a variety of skin tones. I tried the Light to Medium shade and it blended in really well with my skin tone. Bonus feature? High SPF from 100% mineral active ingredients (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) and antioxidants. Supergoop recommends to pair this CC cream with an SPF moisturizer underneath (like Supergoop Antioxidant-Infused Sunscreen Day Cream SPF 40 that’s a really good one!) which I think is a great idea to make sure you have ample sun protection.
Supergoop! Daily Correct SPF 35 CC Cream retails for $32 (1.6 oz) and can be purchased at Supergoop.com and Ulta.
