It’s no secret that Estée Lauder’s original Double Wear Stay-in-Place Liquid Foundation is one of their most popular products ever. I’ve tried it but find it too matte for my liking (dry skin). However, Estée Lauder’s new Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick Radiant Makeup promises lighter but buildable coverage with a hydrating, radiant finish for a healthy glow…that sounds right up my alley!
Touch on, buff, and blend to your perfect nude. Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick Radiant Makeup polishes and evens skintone for a healthy-looking glow. This skin-loving, weightless, and comfortable formula instantly hydrates. It features shades for every skintone, and the innovative stick combines liquid makeup and applicator in one.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick Radiant Makeup is available in 17 shades with warm, cool and neutral undertones…that’s a very nice variety in the range and the undertones! This foundation comes in a convenient & portable twist up stick that features an attached cushion sponge which is used to apply, buff and blend the product into the skin.
HOW TO USE
Pull off gold cap. Slowly twist base of the stick until the first drop appears. If too much makeup is released, you can twist the base back.
Using a gentle tapping motion, dot foundation onto skin where needed.
With a circular motion, smooth out foundation dots.
Twist gold ring at the top to remove entire sponge unit.
Wash sponge tip gently with mild soap and warm water.
Pat dry with tissue. Immediately reattach to stick and twist gold ring tightly to secure.
Allow sponge to dry before recapping.
I really like this foundation! It gives me great medium coverage that evens out my skintone perfectly while minimizing the appearance of my dark spots and acne scars – with a comfortable & lightweight feel. The oil-free formula is slightly hydrating but I still need my dry skin to be nicely moisturized (before applying the foundation) for a smooth finish. Also, it doesn’t adhere to the dry patches on my face nor does it accentuate my large pores.
The formula promises a radiant finish but I find it more of a satin matte finish on my dry skin. I would have favored a slightly more dewy finish but I still like this foundation overall as it manages to perk up my dull skin with a natural healthy-skin glow. I think that’s good news for most skin types because the finish is not shiny or dewy and looks quite natural. That said, this foundation may not be for you if you have very oily skin and prefer all-day completely matte finish.
Also, I find the formula pretty long-lasting with an average wear of 7-9 hours and I don’t even use a finishing powder, but again this might vary if you have combination to oily skin.
Speaking of the built-in sponge applicator, I think it’s quite useful and makes this foundation great for travel and on-the-go touchups. You can dot the foundation on your face and then use the sponge tip to blend, no need for a foundation brush and no mess!
And you don’t have to worry about the sponge getting super dirty after a few uses because it can easily be removed and washed with soap and water. Just twist and the cushion sponge top pops off for easy clean up. Once it’s dry, simply pop it back on! Here’s a pic from Beautezine to show how it works…
