I know I am a little late to the party, but here it is….a roundup of my favorite beauty products of 2016! As they say, better late than never. These are the fabulous finds that secured a top spot in my beauty stash over last year so I am excited to share my love for them again! So, without further ado, here are my top beauty favorites of 2016…
Best of 2016 : Makeup
L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation
This new foundation by L’Oreal ticks all the right boxes for me…great coverage with a dewy fresh finish, lightweight feel, and long-wearing! The finish is more satiny than glow-y and perks up my dull skin with a subtle dewy finish that I love…no unwanted shine or greasiness! I think it’s the best drugstore foundation for dry skin types like mine!
Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paints
This liquid lipstick is a winner for me on all fronts with its amazingly pigmented formula that’s a pure pleasure to wear! It delivers a decadent dose of long-lasting color with a creamy satin finish that’s pretty comfortable and not drying at all. I think it’s the best drugstore liquid lipstick for those of us with (perpetually) dry lips! A bona-fide beauty bargain under $10!
IT Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection Face Palette
From the chic packaging to gorgeous shades, this all-in-one face palette is such a delightful makeup must-have! Designed to enhance and illuminate your complexion, it includes four talc-free powder formulas : a matte bronzer, a luminizer, Bye Bye Pores blush and pressed powder. I am especially in love with the soft champagne-toned highlighter that gets me glowing without any sparkly mess!
Estée Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick Radiant Makeup
Estée Lauder’s original Double Wear Stay-in-Place Liquid Foundation was too matte for my liking but the new Double Wear Cushion Radiant Makeup is right up my alley! It gives me the perfect medium coverage with a satin matte finish that looks very natural and wears all day. Not to mention, the portable stick with cushion sponge applicator makes it so easy to use and travel-friendly!
Rimmel London The Only 1 Lipsticks
This is a drugstore lipstick well done! It’s a fabulously budget friendly lipstick that not only offers excellent color payoff but is also fairly long-lasting. The formula has a beautiful satin matte finish that doesn’t look or feel dry or dull…just the kind of matte I love! My favorite shades are Naughty Nude and Listen Up.
Sephora Collection Retractable Waterproof Eyeliners
Although not new, these eyeliners were a new discovery for me last year and they have been my go-to ever since! With an easy-glide creamy texture, superb color payoff and long-lasting waterproof formula that packs serious staying power, this eyeliner is one of the best long-wearing eyeliners I’ve tried – and it’s under $10! It even features a built-in sharpener to create a fine tip. My favorite shades are 14 Matte Moss and 21 Matte Deep Plum.
And for my waterline, I have been loving the Clinique High Impact Custom Black Kajal eyeliners. The formula is pretty long-lasting and doesn’t cause any irritation. These are especially great for those with sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers!
Best of 2016 : Skincare
PCA Skin Sheer Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 45
Sunscreens aren’t always the most pleasant products to apply but I found the perfect solution to all my sunscreen gripes in this amazing SPF for face! Between the barely-there texture and fragrance-free formula, it’s kind of like wearing nothing at all on my skin. It’s undoubtedly the best tinted sunscreen for face I’ve ever tried…period. It’s also one of the best sunscreens to wear under makeup
This serum is truly a high-performance formula that packs a brightening punch. It will be my skincare staple for a long, long time! My skin needed some serious help after those countless hours of fun in the sun last summer, and this serum really delivered on its promise! I saw a lot of improvement in the appearance of my dark spots and acne scars, after using this serum consistently for a few weeks. And I love its weightless, clear liquid texture that’s perfection!
Tatcha Pore Perfecting Water Gel Moisturizer
Although designed for oily skin, this moisturizer offers the perfect amount of moisture and smoothness (without any greasiness) to quench even my dry skin! With an ultra-lightweight gel texture and a luxurious dusting of 23k gold that adds a subtle lit-from-within glow, the formula is perfect on its own or used under makeup. In fact, I love using it as a highlighter when my skin needs a little pick-me-up…it’s an instant glow-getter without any shimmer!
Best of 2016 : Haircare
Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Luster Lock Instant Shine & Repair Treatment
This deep conditioning mask has been a savior for my color-treated hair that also happen to be very dry. I love how insanely hydrating it is and works its magic in just 5 minutes, leaving my locks feeling and looking healthier & smoother!
L’anza Keratin Healing Oil Combing Cream
When it comes to haircare, I am all about moisture…and more moisture for my dry, unruly, and highly frizz-prone strands. And this creamy detangler fits the bill perfectly! This one really does it all: untangle, moisturize, control frizz, and protect hair from heat damage while blow drying. It leaves my hair soft & silky smooth without weighing them down and speeds up drying time as well. A true multi-tasking wonder it is!
So, these are my top beauty picks for the last year! How about you? What were your favorites for 2016? I would love to hear about them! Sound off in the comments below!
