Dr Brandt Triple Active Retinol is a new multi-tasking nighttime cream that uses the latest technology in retinol delivery: immediate and time released retinol combined with bakuchiol. This combination, along with essential moisturizing ingredients ensures a longer, steadier, even release of stabilized retinol to the skin and minimizes skin irritation.
Suitable for all skin types, Dr Brandt Triple Active Retinol Cream is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, brighten and improve uneven skin tone/texture, and promote skin renewal while moisturizing for a firmer, smoother complexion.
Retinol is a tried-and-true active ingredient for reducing fine lines & wrinkles but oftentimes it causes irritation and/or dryness which makes a lot of us wary of using it consistently in our routine. That’s where the new Dr Brandt Triple Active Retinol can help as it’s formulated with a mix of moisturizing ingredients to help reduce any possible irritation that comes from retinol.
Key Ingredients
1. Retinol in 3 different forms – Stabilized retinol (rapid delivery) and time-released retinol (encapsulated in microspheres) for anti-aging benefits with a gentle delivery while bakuchiol (plant-based natural alternative) with properties similar to traditional retinol, offers additional firming and brightening while minimizing irritation.
2. Ceramides – Support skin’s protective barrier which enhances moisturization and helps defend against environmental aggressors.
3. Squalane – An exceptional hydrator, locks in weightless moisture, calms and improves elasticity.
4. Exclusive botanical blend – Jasmine, chamomile, cucumber, aloe vera and burdock extract. Soothes and calms skin.
Texture-wise, this has a lightweight cream texture that absorbs quickly without any tackiness or greasy feeling. I also like that the formula is fragrance-free!
I have naturally dry skin so I always make sure to moisturize my skin before and after applying retinol to avoid my dry skin becoming even drier or flaky. First, I use a hydrating serum, then apply this retinol and follow with a rich hydrating moisturizer or sleeping mask.
If your skin is not as dry as mine, you don’t have to sandwich this retinol in between two layers of moisture! You can just use a moisturizer after applying this retinol night cream as the formula is quite gentle, thanks to time-released retinol and bakuchiol.
When it comes to retinol, less is more! So just apply a thin even layer to clean, dry skin on face and neck. And don’t forget your sunscreen in the morning!
I didn’t experience any irritation or dry, flaky skin using this retinol cream for several weeks. As I mentioned before, I am not new to retinol and have been using it for a few years now so I can’t see a drastic improvement switching to this product. But I was able to go from twice a week to every other night use with this gentle formula (even though I have dry skin) and hope to see long-term results over time!
Bottom Line
If you are looking for a gentle yet effective retinol that will give you great results with less potential irritation, you can’t go wrong with Dr Brandt Triple Active Retinol Cream!
Along with 3 different forms of retinol, the formula contains a blend of nourishing ingredients like Ceramides, Squalane plus soothing plant oils, shea butter, aloe vera and vitamin E so that you can reap the anti-aging benefits of retinol without the unwanted side-effects!
