It’s no secret that glowing, dewy skin is my thing. As someone with dry skin, I have always gravitated towards foundations designed to make your skin look dewy fresh. And that’s exactly what the new Too Faced Dew You Foundation promises….glow plus good coverage! Sounds right up my alley!
So, I purchased the Too Faced Dew You Full Coverage Fresh Glow Foundation as soon as it became available at Ulta Beauty and have been using it almost everyday since the last two weeks…
The new Too Faced Dew You Foundation promises to hydrate and brighten your complexion with a dewy, gel-cream formula infused with soothing watermelons and cucumbers. Available in 20 shades, it claims to be long-wearing and full coverage with a glowing satin finish. It’s also said to be non-comedogenic (which means it won’t clog your pores)
As much as I love dewy finish foundations for my dry skin, most of them do not offer enough coverage for my pesky dark spots and acne scars. And those with full coverage often feel thick or heavy on my skin (that also happens to be acne-prone!)
But I am happy to report that the new Too Faced Dew You Foundation gives me a flawless complexion while keeping my finicky skin happy.
First off, the pink packaging is pretty and comes with a pump, as all liquid foundations should. The texture is creamy and slightly thick but the foundation applies and blends quite easily. And it feels very comfortable and lightweight throughout the day.
The formula has a fairly strong fruity scent that I don’t like much but thankfully it goes away soon after applying the foundation.
As for the coverage, I’d say it’s more of a medium coverage formula that can easily be built up to almost full coverage. I usually use about 1-2 pumps each time and it covers pretty much everything I want to conceal – whether it be redness, dark spots or acne scars.
And layering doesn’t make it look heavy or cakey…even up close, it doesn’t give off that caked-on finish, and looks natural. Also, this is one of the very few foundations that doesn’t cling to any dry spots on my face (that’s always a big plus for dry skin gals like me!) Of course, I always prep my skin with a hydrating primer before the foundation for an evenly smooth finish.
True to its name, the finish is dewy but not too much…it’s actually more of a satin finish with a subtle glow that looks very natural. And it doesn’t turn oily or greasy through the day, even when I have been out and about in the summer heat.
In fact, I have seen a few You Tube video reviews of this foundation by those with combination to oily skin and most of them seem to be pleased with the non-shiny finish, feel and longevity of this foundation. So, it would be safe to say that Too Faced Dew You foundation isn’t for dry skin types only.
That said, honestly I do wish that the finish was a bit more dewy because that’s one of the main reasons I purchased this foundation (going by its name!) If I am in the mood to amp up the glow factor, I use my favorite NYX Hydra Touch Oil Primer for the perfectly glowing finish!
Last but not the least, Too Faced Dew You Foundation also lives up to its promise of being long-wearing. It lasts pretty much all day even though I don’t usually set with a powder. Sometimes, it does tend to rub off a little bit around my chin area but that’s more towards the end of the day.

Overall, I found the Dew You foundation very similar to my other long-time favorite Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in terms of coverage (medium-to-full), finish (satin matte) and long-wearing formula. If you already have (and love) Born This Way foundation, the Dew You foundation doesn’t bring a whole lot more to the table.
Too Faced Dew You Foundation is great for anyone who likes a hydrating foundation that offers long lasting medium-to-full coverage with a little luminosity. It’s especially perfect for those with drier skin types who appreciate the moisture and a natural dewy finish, but want a lightweight breathable formula that won’t clog pores.
What do you think of the new Too Faced Dew You Foundation? Will you be trying it out?
