Talking about my top beauty favorites of 2020 today! These are some of my stand-out products from last year, the ones I loved (and used) the most and just couldn’t get enough of!
As you can see in the picture above, it’s mostly skincare and not much makeup. For me, skincare has always been a form of self-care and in 2020 it was even more so! This was a year unlike any other and like most of you, my stay-at-home beauty routine was mainly focused on skincare.
All of these new found favorites were released in 2020 except a couple of products that have been around for a while, but I discovered them only recently.
Best Beauty Products 2020
Let’s start with skincare….
CeraVe Tinted Sunscreen SPF 30
If you like your SPF with a side of dewy glow, you’ve gotta give this CeraVe tinted sunscreen a go! This sunscreen is easy to apply without worry of a white cast and provides sheer coverage with a hydrated glow. It’s a great moisturizing mineral sunscreen perfect for dry skin!
Pacifica Lavender Moon Lip Treatment
Infused with the goodness of shea butter, jojoba oil and hyaluronic acid, this is such a soothing and hydrating lip treatment. I use this nightly and love how good it feels on my lips! It’s ridiculously good (and addictive!)
Allies of Skin 35% Vitamin C Collagen Rebuilding Serum
This high-potency 35% Vitamin C serum is also packed with a powerful antioxidant complex to prevent free radical damage and repair signs of premature aging.
I love its lightweight texture that feels so silky going on my skin and is also moisturizing. It absorbs quickly without being tacky, greasy or sticky and there’s no fragrance.
Allies of Skin Peptides & Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment
Super lightweight yet powerful, this brightening serum is supercharged with multiple peptides, antioxidants, brighteners and ceramides to combat inflammation and fade dark spots. It has a silky, feather-light yet hydrating formula that’s perfect for all skin types.
Banila Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm
I fell in love with this cleansing balm the first time I tried it! It does such a great job of removing makeup easily, without leaving a greasy residue behind (of course, I always follow up with a water-based cleanser) It’s the perfect first step in my double-cleansing routine.
Peach & Lily Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask
This exfoliating mask with a blend of 10% Glycolic acid and 0.5% Salicylic acid smooths skin texture and “de-gunks” deep within pores. It really takes my skin from drab to fab for a glowing complexion! If you’re dealing with clogged pores, uneven skin tone and texture, this mask can tackle your tough complexion concerns!
Peach & Lily Overnight Star Sleeping Mask
Infused with the goodness of nourishing antioxidants, Niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, peptides, and jojoba seed oil, this decadent sleeping mask is a treat for dull, tired skin! I love its whipped gel-cream texture that just melts right in and leaves my skin so soft and plumped up.
First Aid Beauty Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
This tinted mineral sunscreen is super lightweight, invisible on the skin and wears well under makeup. It blends in very easily with a sheer, natural finish that’s neither matte nor dewy on my skin. Plus, the formula is also packed with antioxidants to fend off free radicals.
Versed Doctor’s Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask
This facial peel is like an instant face-lift in a jar! It just needs 2-3 minutes to work its magic — no tingling, no irritation, just a healthy glow! With an AHA-BHA complex (lactic, glycolic and salicylic acid) plus fruit enzymes (pineapple and papaya), I love how gentle yet effective it is and affordable too (under $20!)
Farmacy Honey Halo Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer
This is a lovely moisturizer with a soft, butter-like creamy formula that provides a healthy dose of hydration without a heavy feel. Besides antioxidant-rich honey and royal jelly blend, it also contains plant-based ceramides, shea butter and fig fruit extract to provide long-lasting moisture. It leaves my dry skin smooth, supple and notably hydrated.
Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Anti-Aging Eye Cream
This hydrating and soothing eye cream is luscious yet lightweight. Formulated with moisturizing Kiwi Seed Oil (rich in Vitamin C) and natural antioxidant extracts to improve firmness and elasticity, the formula is completely fragrance‐free. A little goes a long way and soaks into my skin easily without leaving a sticky or greasy residue.
Speaking of skincare for eye area, I also love the Masque Bar Gold Hydrogel Eye Masks ($18.99)
MAKEUP
florence by mills Like a Light Skin Tint
This hydrating tinted moisturizer has buildable sheer to light coverage with a dewy finish. It evens out my skin tone beautifully for that my-skin-but-better look! I love the luminous glow it gives me, without a heavy or greasy feel.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk Medium
This is one of my most worn lipsticks! It’s such a beautiful warm-toned rose brown shade. It’s the perfect nude lipstick for medium skin tones like mine. Swatches here
Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Makeup SPF 45
This Estee Lauder foundation is hydrating, long-wearing and provides lightweight medium coverage (that’s buildable) with a natural dewy finish. It’s absolute perfection for my dry skin! The inclusion of SPF 45 is just the cherry on top.
I also wanted to make a mention about Maybelline Dream Radiant Liquid Hydrating Foundation which is a really great drugstore foundation for dry skin. Read my full review here.
IT Cosmetics Pillow Lips Lipsticks
This is such a creamy and comfortable lipstick with a satin finish, yet fairly long-wearing. It glides on smoothly without any dragging or dryness and also rocks in the color payoff department. You can see all the swatches here.
Tarte Cosmetics Sex Kitten Eyeliner
This waterproof, smudge-proof gel eyeliner is designed to last long even on the waterline and it does stay put! It’s highly pigmented, glides on easily without tugging or skipping and doesn’t irritate my eyes when used on the waterline.
HAIRCARE
I have to admit that Instagram-made-me-buy-this product! I gave in to the hype and got it, but glad I did! I use a few drops of this honey infused hair oil on my towel dried hair and it makes my hair so much smoother, softer and a lot less frizzy.
It’s not heavy or greasy at all and doesn’t leave my hair weighed down. Not to mention, the packaging is gorgeous. It’s definitely a splurge but if you have dry, damaged and unruly hair like mine that needs a lot of TLC, I would say this is worth giving a try!
So, these are my top beauty picks!
